Eyes I have, but I see not
without your sharp and studied gaze,
which finds the smallest sparrow.
As if with the eyes of God,
you spot
the trembling branch, the flashing wing.
You call them each by name—
nuthatch, junco, house wren, finch.
You know them at a song,
while I have simply tagged along.
You are watching birds,
and I
am watching you.
Here's what I read, cooked, and created in the month of November.

What I Cooked
Difficulty: ★★
Flavor: ★★★★
Keeper: Yes
Comments: I like this blogger's roasted red pepper shells better, but these are still quite delicious.
Difficulty: ★★
Flavor: ★★★★
Keeper: Yes
Comments: I halved this recipe and made it in my quarter sheet pan, and it was just so easy and good. A great breakfast-for-dinner option.
What I Created
Original poem "A Liturgy of Thanksgiving and Praise for the Thanksgiving Meal"
Unpublished original poem "Ode to the Avenger"
A little more progress on my long-neglected project
May your days be filled with beauty, and may your heart be filled with the willingness to see and give thanks for it.
